Counseling staff utilize a variety of therapeutic models but specialize in brief solution-focused therapy.  For young children, the DINA Therapeutic Group Program is an innovative program developed by Dr. Carolyn Webster-Stratton that is designed to help children learn the appropriate ways to resolve common conflicts, promote appropriate classroom behaviors, and enhance positive social skills.  This positive-based curriculum is founded on the idea that children respond more favorably to encouragement.  Dinosaur School engages children in problem-solving to promote a sense of independence and self-esteem.

Trainings to parents are offered to address some of the struggles caregivers have with rearing children of the new generation. The Incredible Years Parent Preschool is a series of workshops focused on strengthening parenting competencies (monitoring, positive discipline, confidence) and fostering parents' involvement in children's school experiences in order to promote children's academic, social and emotional competencies and reduce conduct problems. The ACT (Adults & Children Together) parent group teaches guardians to respond appropriately to common behaviors often displayed by children.

Our thoroughly trained and certified staff offer a range of professional development workshops for educators and other child care professionals. The Importance of Teacher Encouragement and Praise, Building Positive Relationships with Students and Parents, Motivating Students in the Classroom and Decreasing Students’ Inappropriate Behavior are taught using a variety of multimedia methods including, videos, role playing, music, puppets and interactive games to help educators develop proactive methods of classroom and behavior management. Specific training offered to professionals focus on Supervision & Management, Conflict Resolution, Anger in the Workplace and Client Services.
