MFFK partnership with Johnson Elementary- on-site growth and well-being services for students
We were excited to embark on a new partnership that aims to foster the well-being and success of students and their families at Johnson Elementary in Jackson, MS. From March to May 2023 we were on-site at the school to offer social, emotional, and developmental screenings through Help Me Grow. These screenings helped to identify any areas of concern. We then worked with students and their families to develop intervention plans and connect families with vital resources to help their children learn, thrive, and grow. In addition to these screenings, our team of licensed clinicians provided counseling services for students and their families.
What is Help Me Grow: Supporting Every Child’s Development
Help Me Grow is designed to ensure that every child reaches their full potential. Through comprehensive screenings, we can identify potential developmental delays or concerns in areas such as speech, motor skills, cognition, and social-emotional development. Our trained professionals conduct these screenings in a supportive and child-friendly environment by making sure evaluations take place via play, ensuring a positive experience for all involved.
The screenings are a valuable opportunity for parents and caregivers to gain insights and ask questions about their child’s development. By participating, families can play an active role in their child’s well-being and growth. Remember, early detection and intervention can make a significant difference in a child’s developmental journey.
