Summer Youth Leadership Camp Registration

Our FREE summer camp for ages 11-16 on June 15-19th will enhance students’ ability to assess real-life situations and learn to make positive choices. Camp will be at:

JPS Environmental Center
6190 MS-18 Jackson, MS 39209
June 15-19th | 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Friday (19th) will be at Two Mississippi Museum close of camp ends June 19th, by 12pm.

Camp sessions are led by professionals in their respective field, and participants are encouraged to ask questions or share related issues they may have.

Transforming through the arts activities
Enhance leadership skills through the arts by showcasing your creativity through cooking, dance, music, sports, or creative arts.
Life groups
Connect with youth and mentors to gain insight and debrief on real-life situations and topics covered.
FINANCIAL LITERACY SIMULATION
Take part in a financial literacy simulation where students are given real-life examples of professional salaries. Then, they will budget and make financial decisions based on their projected family income.
This simulation bridges that gap from misconception to understanding through immersion while sensitizing the realities of financial management.
College/career day
Students must know that they can achieve successful careers after graduating from high school. We invite individuals in non-traditional fields to participate in a college/career fair with information on high institutions of learning and professional jobs in the state of Mississippi. Students also get information on available internships and summer programs as well as information on financial and academic considerations when making college preparations.- LOL - Lead Out Loud!

I, the undersigned, am the parent or guardian of a participant in the 2026 Youth Leadership Camp. I hereby release Mississippi Families for Kids, its Board of Directors, sponsors, JPS Environmental Learning Center, Two Mississippi Museums, camp presenters, speakers and all agents associated with said camp from all claims arising out of my child’s participation in said camp for damage to the property of my child and/or to the property of others as a result of the acts of my child. My child is aware that the director(s) and instructors will be in charge of the participants, and the participants must follow their directions. I understand and agree that Mississippi Families for Kids, its Board of Directors, sponsors, JPS Environmental Learning Center, Two Mississippi Museums, camp presenters, speakers and all agents associated with said camp shall not be liable for injuries from any and all claims, damages or expenses in the event any suit is commenced by or on behalf of my child.
Medical Release
I, the undersigned certify that my child is physically fit to participate in the camp. By signing this form, I, the parent or guardian, do hereby release Mississippi Families For Kids and all connected persons or organizations with said camp from any and all liability or medical claims my child may incur while in attendance at said camp. However, the camp staff has my permission to seek medical attention for my child should the need arise.
Photographic and Video Release
I hereby consent to and authorize the use and reproduction by Mississippi Families For Kids, or anyone authorized by Mississippi Families For Kids, of any and all photographs or video of my child(ren) . Mississippi Families For Kids reserves the right to use photographs and video in any of its print, media or electronic publications.
